In today’s last event, our ‘vets express pulled up in Billings to meet with a great group of local activists and interested citizens. The crowd had some great questions for our veterans. Specifically, they wanted to know if the military itself felt that climate change was a national security challenge… and it turns out that the military is focusing on this challenge.
The Pentagon is including the threats of climate change in their Quadrennial Defense Review this year. The National Intelligence Council said last year that climate instability would have “wide ranging implications for US national security interests,” and even the CIA is launching a center on climate change to examine the security implications of environmental issues.
