This is a guest post from Glenn Kunkel, one of the veterans on the northern bus. Glenn served in the Marine Corps for two deployments in Iraq.

Rochester Minnesota is the quintessential American town; a town that knows what sacrifices have been made for America’s independence. We were greeted warmly this morning for our panel discussion. We got some sunshine for a change, and as per the usual diligence we were on time and well prepared, Save for the drive had wrinkled my shirt. Everybody knows a Marine doesn’t like wrinkles as much as he doesn’t like cold chow. And of course, there isn’t an iron on the bus.

The panel was assembled and the discussion hit every point key to understanding the importance of climate change as a threat to national security. There were few questions, as our preparation and delivery of this bill’s necessity reassured the crowd that American’s best interests are at the core.

At these events, I speak about how we can prevent future conflicts by preventing climate change. These points are to dispel the notion that we would be running from a fight. Rather, we’d be preventing one. It’s our responsibility as veterans to further protect America, Americans, and in every clime and place we needn’t take a gun.

Now we’re back on the road to Lacrosse Wisconsin, debriefing and further honing our delivery so we can spread the message to others just as efficiently. It’s not a tough sell when the facts clearly state that every aspect of this bill will benefit America and better the lives of Americans.

But I still need an iron.
