NORFOLK

Some military veterans plan to make a stop in Norfolk on a bus tour promoting a clean energy plan that they say cuts carbon pollution.

The Operation Free Veterans for American Power Bus Tour will stop in Norfolk tomorrow as part of a 21-state tour to talk to residents and community leaders about climate change and its “threat to national security,” according to a release from the group.

Six veterans on the bus, including a Charlottesville native, will be in Charlottesville today, the release says. Tomorrow, they will visit the Williams Community Center in Richmond before stopping in the Ocean View area of Norfolk.

The Norfolk stop will happen at 4 p.m. at Club 360 Inc., 9601 First View St., the release says.

The tour is sponsored by Operation Free, a coalition of veterans and national security groups that wants to raise public awareness about climate change and national security, the release says.

The group says its members support a clean energy plan that cuts carbon pollution, develops clean energy incentives and “puts America in control of its energy future.”
