Veterans Tour to Support Clean Energy
CHARLESTON – A group of veterans are touring the country to support clean energy.
They made stops Sunday in Charleston and Morgantown. Its part of Operation Free — an effort to spread the word about climate change and how they said it affects national security.
The group urged West Virginians to contact their congressional delegations and urge them to support efforts to develop clean energy.
“I know coal has been a huge part of West Virginia’s economy in the past no one is trying to get rid of that but we do need to look forward to the future,” said Jon Gensler.
The Operation Free bus was parked at the state capitol in Charleston around 4 p.m. while the group hosted a brief press conference.
