Chuck Tyler is a former Staff Sergeant in the US Army.
“It’s the next generation of warriors we’re defending by doing this,” retired Marine Glenn Kunkel concluded. “Just because we’re not in uniform doesn’t mean we aren’t still serving.”
With that, the two dozen attendees of Operation FREE’s Veterans for American Power first tour stop were abuzz with thoughts on what they
planned to do to reach out to Senators Bayh and Lugar, urging their support of the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act.
We were warmly received by Valparaiso Law School students, faculty and concerned citizens. Our message of reducing our dependance on fossil
fuels to increase America’s national security was heard 5 X 5–meaning our audience gets it.
Let’s hope our lawmakers get it, too. America has a great opportunity to take back control of its own energy future. We can cut off the flow of money to the terrorists we’re fighting against, and at the same time build a new energy economy that creates jobs here at home and makes America a world leader in clean energy.
Valpo was a great start.
