COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeye State is this week’s destination for a clean energy mission traveling the country in a bio-Diesel-fueled bus. The goal of the “Veterans for American Power” bus tour is to build better public understanding of the national security implications of climate change.

During her deployment to Iraq in 2003, Robin Eckstein drove missions hauling fuel and water. Back then, she says, she was a slow-moving target. She says part of the U.S. military’s logistical nightmare is due to its dependence on foreign oil.

“Every time when we rolled outside the gates of Baghdad International Airport, it was a roll of the dice, as far as if we were even going to live or die, in order to get this fuel to these outposts that could not function without it. ”
