Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, July 12, Operation Free, a coalition of veterans working to secure America through renewable energy, will host an educational panel on the military’s clean energy initiatives entitled, “Fueling Our Military in the 21st Century”. The event is being sponsored by Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA).

Military leaders have identified U.S. dependence on oil as a strategic vulnerability, but efforts to reduce the military’s reliance on petroleum as the sole source of fuel have been met with criticism by several members in Congress.

Truman Project Vice President and Operation Free Surrogate Mike Breen will moderate the panel, which will consist of four retired top-level military officials from four of the armed service branches.
